Kate Beckinsale said she was “in social panic” on dating and had no chance of finding a new romantic partner through an app.
The 48-year-old star confided The Howard Stern Show, reported via The mirror, whom she has only dated three people since she split from her ex-husband – Total recall director Len Wiseman – in 2015.
“I’m not very prolific. I’ve also learned that I’m really bad at picking,” she said.
Beckinsale said she “would rather die” than try dating apps, adding: “It tells me, ‘Oh hello, serial killer. Come get me. ”
“That would be my chance. It would be ‘he’s cute’ … so it’s fucking Ted Bundy.”

It wasn’t just apps like Tinder that rocked Beckinsale, traditional dating proving just as uncomfortable for her.
She said: “I can’t think of anything that I hate more – sitting on a date with someone I don’t know if I like and having to watch them eat a whole dinner and have to get out of it. makes me sweaty.
“I think people are so brave and cool that they can do it. I’m too scared socially by this.
Beckinsale was lovingly attached to the comedian and The suicide squad star Pete Davidson in 2019, but they separated after only a few months together.
She has a 22-year-old daughter with actor Michael Sheen, who she dated before her marriage to Wiseman.
Beckinsale released a statement earlier this week, reacting to a fury around the comments she made on IQ in her interview with Howard Stern.
The star had been asked several times about her IQ, then, after calling her mother, confirmed it was 152 and said she believed the number “could have been a handicap” in her career.

After being accused by some media of bragging, Beckinsale said on Instagram that she is frustrated by society “forcing women to put themselves down so as not to offend”.
She added: “When I said it was a handicap in Hollywood, it was PRECISELY because being a woman AND having an opinion often has to be packaged carefully enough not to be offensive or, as in this case , deliberately twisted to signify his perceived superiority or arrogance. “
